Here, comes the first ray of light, touching the earth, sparking new new energy and extraordinary enthusiasm among his followers. Yes, its Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary today, a day when millions of his followers, the dalits and the downtrodden, avoiding all their daily routine, their griefs, to celebrate the happiest day of their lives, the birthday of their Messiah.
An extremely proficient scholar, an economist, a historian, a politician, prolific writer, a lawyer and the Architect of the Indian Constitution, his peculiarity and idiosyncrasy was more than infinity. One might be aware of the 2012 poll of The Greatest Indian(after Gandhi) electing Dr. Ambedkar as the title holder.
Dr. Ambedkar spent his lifetime agitating for the upliftment of the lower classes, the scheduled and the backward classes. He promoted education for all along with equality for women and their empowerment. “Vachaal Tar Vachaal” ( If you learn, you live) he quoted. His admired Saint Kabir, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Shahu Maharaj etc and also promoted their idealism.
Being not allowed to enter the class due to his low class, the young Ambedkar educated to become the first matriculate from low caste, and then there was no looking back, he continued his proficiency and earned many degrees and doctorates in a very short span of time( less than the actual time span that is used to complete a degree). He was fond of books and has a collection of thousands of them. In his late 40s, he started studying various religuons and finally decided to embrace Buddhism. On 14th of October, 1956, he along with millions of his followers converted to Buddhism at Nagpur( the venue is now known as Deekshabhoomi. )
14th April, every year is celebrated with great enthusiasm, huge public gatherings and processions. People all around the country celebrate this day with due respect for the man who the bestow a place no less than a God.
On his 124 birth Anniversary, we deeply acknowledge his works, a grateful nation pays tribute to the Greatest Indian Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
