With the recent upload of Dhinchak Pooja’s ‘Selfie Maine Leli Aaj‘, (and more recently, ‘Dilon ka Scooter‘) the internet was stormed writing about Pooja Jain, who got full attention (negative way) for her another “worst” song. Her pop version of music lies under Cringe pop Genre, which is referred to as, ‘so bad that you cannot stop watching them’ and it’s true.
Don’t believe me?
Check the view count and subscribers of her channel, which has already made her go viral.
But, she isn’t the first or second to roll in a luxurious car and sing another version of cringe pop.
So, who’s the first?
Well, he is still creating his versions of cringe pops (for some philosophers 😉 ). In an interview, he quoted that it took him over 20 years to write the lyrics. God better give him a good job!
History of Cringe Pop Music
Well, to be honest, there’s no thousand year old history or a mythical background story to the cringe pop genre. But it has a discoverer.
The genre got it’s first singer, Rebecca Black who sung, Friday song in 2011. She got an ample amount of attention for her song and gained a million subscribers in YouTube since then. See?
Cringe pop makes you popular, but I dare you not to try, at least for God’s sake!
After Rebecca Black, Taher Shah flooded youtube with his first release, ‘Eye to eye‘ followed by his second ‘The Angel song‘ which was released in 2016.
Witnessing these two “superstars”, audience took on roll, when Daimaou Kosaka launched his pop version, ‘PPAP‘ (Pen PineApple Pen), which went viral with many positive reactions. This dance song is very catchy and, is considered to be hilarious and stupid.
But that’s not the end.
When you know cringe pop makes you fly high in the internet world, how would Jacob Sartorius stay behind and watch others gaining popularity?
He released ‘Sweatshirt’ and ‘Hit or Miss’, his cringe pop music versions and once again allowed the legacy of cringe music singers to continue.
When there’s world battle of Cringe-pop superstars, Bhim Niraula, a Nepali cringe pop singer who was in headlines for his phenomenal cringe music, ‘Sunday Morning Love you‘ and ‘Let’s fly in the sky‘, could not resist to stay behind to make a mark.
And then, Dhinchak Pooja comes the next and the rest is History. 😛
It is very easy these days to launch your own version of music and get widely popular. Anybody with a laptop can create a cringe music and upload it to YouTube.
We have a lot now, don’t you think this needs an end? Or, you want more, to listen the worst, shed blood from ears and let these singers gain popularity for nothing. Oh wait, singing cringe-pop needs guts, at least to face the world.
Hope you like it. Let me know in the comments.
